My uncle Fred Fiducia, was a boxer in Newark, who left his mark on ring history by being one of only two boxers who competed in every division from flyweight to heavyweight (the other was Georges Carpentier of France).

When Fred retired from the ring after 22 years, he owned a corner ice cream parlor on Ferry Street several blocks from Madison Street.
