Newark's Chinatown was once behind the City Hall Building. There
were about 3,000 living there by 1922, But they were run out of
their own community. In 1933 11 businesses & 700 families left
Newark's Chinatown for NYC & the suburbs. In 1941 they tried
to bring back Chinatown in Newark. In 2001, Only 2 Chinese families
still lived in Newark Chinatown.
